Milanie studied to be a Biomedical Technologist at the University of Port Elizabeth; however, her career took a sudden change when she started assisting with her family`s businesses, specifically in the bookkeeping/accounting field. It was then that she soon realised her love and passion for numbers.

The legal side of things intrigued her as well and she started gaining experience in Legal bookkeeping by assisting at a family law firm. Under the Mentorship of Lucille Bester and Elainne Harmse, she soon started specialising in attorney accounting practices, which are very different and unique from normal that of other businesses.

She was employed with law firms; Pieterse Cary Finlaison Inc, Strombeck Pieterse Inc, and Pumeza Bono Inc. In March 2020, she decided to open her own practice, and she completed her exam with the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT) and became a registered SARS tax practitioner in the same year.

Milanie then joined TRM Tax Attorneys full-time in July 2023 and is the firm`s Financial Manager. She has in-depth knowledge of sound business practices and principles handed down to her by her father, Callie Pieterse. She is resourceful, ambitious, passionate, and ethical; characteristics she enshrines in her business practices.
