ATTORNEY
BA || LLB (Cum Laude)
Christopher graduated cum laude from Rhodes University in 2019 and is an admitted attorney of the High Court.
He started his career as a legal practitioner with TRM in early 2020 and has since taken a keen interest, and gained expertise, in the M&A advisory space (TRM Africa). Areas of focus include developing tax methodology for the treatment of financial instruments, derivatives as well as the corporate rollover/ deferral transactions. Christopher has protected our clients, in producing methodologies, from the penetrating powers given to SARS by the General Anti Avoidance Rules (the GAAR). In furthering this capacity, he has (writing alongside the renowned pens of Dr. Daniel Erasmus and Schalk Pieterse) co-authored a treatise on the South African GAAR which has been published by Thompson Reuters.
Since starting his articles, and into his professional life as an admitted attorney, Christopher has also been deeply involved in tax litigation and controversy in the High Court and Tax Court of South Africa and has zealously fought for our clients.
